Dr. Frank “Steve” Sutherland
Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
Dr. Sutherland grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated Dental School, cum laude and did his residency training at the University of Tennessee. He was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Sutherland has owned and operated numerous private practices through out central Florida. He has worked in group practices in Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Most recently he has been in the Chicago area working with Board Certified clinicians providing the most advanced procedures in complex dental implant treatment including “All-on-4” technique(teeth-in-a-day).This highly technical procedure allows patients who suffer from missing teeth due to periodontal disease, decay, injury or genetics to restore their smile in one day.
He continues to expand his knowledge and skills by keeping up with the most current and innovative procedures in oral surgery. Dr. Sutherland is an experienced clinician in the use of the CO2 laser for skin resurfacing and has been a preceptor/trainer for the Lumenis Corporation,USA. He is trained and permitted in dental anesthesia and has been a prior dental anesthesia inspector for the State of Florida Board of Dentistry.
Dr. Sutherland’s philosophy is to treat every patient with the highest quality of care. To listen to the patient, recognize their needs and provide the safest, most comfortable treatment. “I recognize that coming to a dental office can be quite frightening. I want the patient to know that I will help them get through the procedure comfortably and safely.”
In his free time, Dr. Sutherland enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He is a supporter of Catholic Charities, The Wounded Veterans Association, St. Jude’s Hospital and Catholic education.
